A SPANISH chef who is a suspect in the murder and dismemberment of a Colombian surgeon on Koh Phangan last week appeared stress free the first night at Koh Samui district prison and has not been given any special privileges, Naewna newspaper said this afternoon (Aug. 8).
Mr. Edwin Miguel Arrieta Arteaga, 44, a gender reassignment surgeon from Colombia was allegedly murdered and dismembered by his partner Mr.Daniel Jeronimo Sancho Bronchalo, 29, a successful chef who runs a popular Youtube channel called Puro Disfrute.
More of Arteaga’s body parts washed up on the beach today with divers searching for remaining parts flung into the sea in a suitcase.
Mr. Watcharapong Boonsai-or, head of this prison, said after the prison received Sancho at 6 p.m. last evening he underwent a physical exam with his general condition being normal.
The suspect showed no sign of stress or panic about being in prison. Officials were assigned to watch him closely and talk to him so that he does not get stressed and it was found that he was able to answer questions normally.He is not getting special treatment and has the same rights as other inmates.
However visitors are not allowed to meet him at the moment because he is undergoing a 10-day Covid quarantine according to the screening measures.
Watcharapong reassured the suspect’s family that the prison takes care of all its inmates according to the Corrections Department regulations.
Foreign reporters, especially those from Spain, had gathered in front of the prison to get news about the suspect whose parents are Spanish film stars, namely Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchalo.The couple was together for a decade until they separated.
Sancho’s grandfather, the deceased Sancho Grace, was a famous actor known for having been part of the 70’s series of the same name, according to Euro ES Euro.
