Torrential rain pounds Phuket with some areas flooded again

PHUKET was lashed by heavy rain again this evening (Nov. 2) leading to several parts of three districts, including Patong seaside town, getting flooded, Amarin TV said.

The intense downpour started at 5.30 p.m. leading to floods swamping  Mueang Phuket, Kathu, and Thalang districts while a flash flood that originated from “Khao 50 Pi” (50-Year Hill) area gushed down to Na Nai road in Patong, making travel difficult.

The area in front of the Simon Cabaret entertainment venue on Sirirat road in Patong was also inundated.

In Mueang Phuket district, flooding was reported on Pracha Uthit 1 road, specifically opposite the SuperCheap branch near Phaniang, in front of the Kong Ngoen shop, and at the T-junction near the entrance of Soi Nawarak in Ratsada subdistrict.

Residents and tourists are urged to exercise extra caution especially in areas with stagnant water or where floodwaters are flowing through the road. Motorists should avoid driving through strong, fast-moving currents. and monitor the situation closely
