THE DEPARTMENT of Special Investigation was today (Oct.27) encouraged to take legal action against those allegedly involved in the Shuffle.com casino online including Bhumjaithai MP Suchada Zhang Tansap’s spouse Taiyang Zhang, among others, in Thailand.
House Committee on Law, Justice & Human Rights Chair/People’s MP Rangsiman Rome strongly suggested that the DSI, a government agency attached to the Ministry of Justice, promptly take steps to bring to justice those suspected in the running of the Shuffle casino online, registered in Curacao, because he said, it had reportedly had a number of gambling customers in Thailand where all gambling activities are ultimately illegal.
The authorities have so far found six digital accounts combinedly worth some 100 million baht circulated to place bets with the Shuffle casino online via Bitkub and Maxbit crypto exchanges in this country.
The opposition lawmaker who has undergone an inquiry with the DSI at the agency’s headquarters today charged that those suspects including the coalition lawmaker’s spouse, an Australian national of Chinese descent, had allegedly perpetrated an organised crime in accordance with the Thai law and been allegedly involved in the illegal gambling business in this country as well as a transnational money-laundering conspiracy, thus warranting a prompt, effective crackdown by the DSI and other authorities.
Meanwhile, a representative of Binance crypto exchange in Thailand is scheduled to testify before the Rangsiman committee at parliament tomorrow (Oct.28) with hopes to shed more light on such illegal, online businesses which may have already occurred and preyed on a number of gamblers in this country.
Taiyang, a serial entrepreneur in crypto industry, has been earlier accused of holding a paltry share in Shuffle.com which is reportedly owned and operated by Natural Nine BV Casinos where he himself was known as a founding investor.
However, the first-time MP of Chaiyapum excused that her spouse had earlier managed to sell it off whilst they both could probably be charged with concealing part of their assets which they had previously declared to amount to some 1.9 billion baht and conspiring in a money-laundering scam.
Suchada has been invariably accused of keeping her spouse’s online casino business in secrecy whilst working as secretary to Digital Economy & Society Minister Chaichanok Chidchob last year.
Chaichanok, son of de facto Bhumjaithai boss Newin Chidchob, has been as well held accountable for such ironic circumstances surrounding government measures to crack down on gambling activities, either in gambling dens or online.
