A CERTAIN female named Ratana Bawtham who has been originally suspected among others of involvement in the 2024 senatorial rigging conspiracy was found to have literally worked for de facto Bhumjaithai boss Newin Chidchob since the last quarter of a century.
Ratana who was known to have quietly served Newin and members of his Chidchob family since 2000, nearly a decade before the Bhumjaithai was set up, had allegedly handed out cash to senatorial contestants and conspirators allegedly involved in the electoral fraud scandals at the headquarters of the largest ruling party in Bangkok and literally made multiple cell phone calls to 19 winning candidates, six of whom had been prosecuted in the Supreme Court among a total of 26 senators and 51 others by the Election Commission, according to People’s MP Chayapol Satondee’s latest Facebook content.
Ratana, who had been previously named “expert” attached to Bhumjaithai MP Chalat Ratchakitprakarn, son of Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Transport Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, had regularly worked at the ruling party’s headquarters.
However, neither the otherwise little-known woman nor the de facto Bhumjaithai boss was charged by the commissioners among the 77 suspects though both had been earlier accused of illegitimate involvement in the alleged electoral fraud over the complicated, triple-tiered senatorial races two years ago.
The commissioners voted 5:2 on Monday to exonerate Prime Minister/Bhumjaithai leader Anutin Charnvirakul and Newin, among others, from alleged involvement in the rigging conspiracy.
Four out of the seven commissioners had been earlier handpicked by an overwhelming majority of the total 200 senators, 138 of whom had contentiously landed “victories” by way of the premeditated, organised rigging plot allegedly designed, masterminded and manipulated by elements ether closely attached to or practically connected with Newin’s camp.
In another development, reserve senators on Wednesday petitioned the Supreme Court to repeal the commissioners’ ruling delivered in favour of nearly all Bhumjaithai figures ranging from Newin as de facto party boss, Anutin as party leader, members of cabinet and lawmakers to the party’s executive board members and to order truthful, evidence-based reinvestigation into the whole rigging conspiracy to the extent that many more of the suspects be finally prosecuted in court.
The People’s. the largest opposition party, has planned to press misconduct and duty-negligence charges in court against the majority of the commissioners who had apparently failed to grasp the big picture of the premeditated, organised electoral fraud in which those prominent members of the Bhumjaithai rank and file had been allegedly involved and only chosen to treat the whole scandals on individual, non-mutually connected basis.
