RELATIVES of a 30-year-old Thai woman who has been in coma after being shot in the head and body by a 14-year-old suspect who went on a shooting spree in Siam Paragon mall on Oct. 3 said she died peacefully at 2 a.m. today (Oct. 13), Amarin TV and Sanook.com said.
Ms. Penpiwan Mitthampitak, or Nungning, 30, had been shot twice in the head with two more shots hitting her body but did not regain consciousness since the day of the shooting and died at Chulalongkorn Hospital where she was undergoing treatment.
This raises the death toll in this shooting to three with the other two fatalities also being women, one from Myanmar and the other from China.
An X account holder, formerly Twitter, who goes by the handle @songdoubles, thanked all those who sent baskets of flowers and fruit throughout the 10 days she was hospitalised including Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-nukara, Labour Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn and the executives of Siam Paragon mall.
