A THAI AIRWAYS International’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner landed safely at Bengaluru airport in India despite a rear tyre having burst with all 150 passengers and crew unharmed, Thansettakij newspaper said today (Apr. 29).
The malfunction that struck Flight TG325 occurred at 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday Apr. 26 just as the airplane touched down after having departed from Suvarnabhumi airport.
The ground staff had spotted the damaged tyre and alerted the pilot who skillfully took the required action leading to all 150 passengers and crew disembarking safely.
After this close shave flight TG 326 was cancelled and all passengers given accommodation.
THAI then roped in an Airbus A350-900 jetliner to service flights TG325/TG326 on Apr. 27 and 28 and all the stranded passengers were brought back to Bangkok. The Dreamliner that suffered a tyre burst was also flown back to Bangkok.
