Neighbours shocked to see foreigner hanged at balcony

PANICK spread throughout an alley in Pattaya yesterday afternoon (July 22) after the hanged body of a foreigner was clearly seen dangling out on the balcony of his second floor apartment, Sanook.com reported this morning.

Pol.Lt.Col. Natthawat Ploenchit, head of investigation at Pattaya City police station, rushed to the four-storey apartment building in Soi Photisan 3, Naklua subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, after being informed that a foreigner had died there.

At the scene he found the body of Mr. Leif, 52, a Swedish national, hanged and jutting out on to the balcony of his second floor apartment.

As his hanged body was clearly visible from the ground level, there were many frightened people milling around and watching.

An inspection showed that there was no signs of the dead foreigner having been harmed nor had his belongings been searched with this apartment visible in all directions.

Mr. Wat, 56, a motorcycle taxi man based at this apartment, said while parked and waiting for a passenger a passing delivery van drove in with the shocked driver telling him he saw a hanged body at a rear balcony. He went to checked, and also saw the dangling dead body, so quickly called the police.
