Austrian woman seriously injured after falling at Suvarnabhumi Airport

AN AUSTRIAN woman was rushed to the hospital after falling from the second floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport and hitting the forecourt bus station on the first floor last evening (June 19), Sanook.com said this morning.

Pol. Lt. Col. Uthen Prabprim, an inspector at Suvarnabhumi Airport police station, quickly went to check upon being informed that an unidentified Austrian woman, 35, had plunged down from the second to the first floor at this forecourt with paramedics from Samitivej Hospital stationed at the airport and rescuers from Por Teck Tung Foundation accompanying him.

There they found the passenger lying motionless on the ground and having difficulty breathing amid convulsions with both legs broken. She was quickly given first aid and rushed to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses told police that the seriously injured woman had walked out of Gate 3 on the second floor then climbed on the railing and fell to the forecourt.

Police have not yet determined whether the passenger deliberately jumped down or was pushed but they are going through surveillance video clips while checking her background and have also contacted the embassy to inform her relatives.
