Krabi protesters plan to head to Govt House in 1,000-vehicle convoy

A SUB-DISTRICT headman in Krabi has called for a 1,000-vehicle convoy to drive all the  way to Government House in Bangkok next Thursday (Nov. 5) to demand action on hardships faced by local residents and so far owners of 400 vehicles have signed up, Amarin TV said today (Oct. 30).

Mr. Mano Kruakaew, kamnan of Krabi Noi sub-district, Mueang Krabi district, said on his Facebook page, entitled “Kamnan of Krabi Noi Sub-district: Honest and Transparent” that he is organising this big convoy to travel to Government House to bring the grievances of local people directly to the government’s attention, a move that has gained significant traction on social media.

Kamnan Mano updated his Facebook this morning to say that following discussions with his team, it has been decided that the convoy will depart on Nov. 5. Participants will gather at 9:a.m. at Khuan Nong Hong in Cha-uat district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, then head to Government House.

The plan involves making stops along the route to hold public addresses, inviting more residents to join in until the target of 1,000 vehicles is reached—at which point the entire convoy will head directly to Government House.
