FIREMEN are having a difficult time putting out a blaze at a paper factory in Bang Bo district of Samut Prakan province this evening (Dec. 2), Thai Rath newspaper said.
At 6 p.m. today Pol. Lt. Col. Paradorn Pengkot, deputy inspector at Bang Bo police station, was notified of a fire breaking out at Chaisith Containers and Paper Core Co., Ltd. located off Bangna-Trad road kilometre 29 so alerted the Fire and Rescue Department to quickly send fire trucks to fight the blaze.
It was reported at 8.20 p.m. that the fire had still not been extinguished with firemen facing difficulty as the entrance to the factory was one way.
Fire was raging violently at the single-storey plant with flames shooting through the roof and while firemen were spraying water non-stop the large amount of paper products made it difficult to control it.
Reporters and other people not fighting the fire were not allowed to get near the factory and could only observe it from a distance away.
The products this company deals in include corrugated paper, paper boxes, paper plates and paper pallets.
