A LOT of people at the seaside resort town Hua Hin complained about a local hospital putting off their coronavirus vaccination due to take place during June 7-11 because of insufficient vaccines, Siam Rath said this evening (June 3).
Hua Hin Hospital announced on its Facebook page that it has been allocated 930 doses of vaccine for the first round of inoculation while 5,800 people had registered to get their jabs.
Some of them were peeved at having been waiting for days to get the jab but this being put off at the last moment while others mentioned that they had taken leave from work to get this done but all in vain.
Meanwhile Dr. Suriya Kuharat, Prachuap Khiri Khan’s public health doctor, said there were nine more Covid takes in this province today taking the cumulative confirmed total to 1,704.
Three of the new cases emerged at Dole Thailand’s pineapple canning factory where there are now 113 patients. However the factory has not been shut and is operating as usual. At the same time this factory’s 1,375 Myanmar workers will be completing their 14-day quarantine on June 7.
Three others got infected after contact with high-risk individuals, a player at PT Prachuap Football Club who had shopped at a big department store also caught the infection as did an Italian man who underwent a test in order to fly overseas.
Dr. Suriya added that the provincial vaccination plan had to be adjusted with people over 60 years of age and those having chronic diseases to get vaccinated this month.
He explained that vaccines are being allocated to the province on a weekly basis similar to other provinces and in the first week this province will be getting 3,600 doses of AstraZeneca and 2,560 doses of Sinovac.
He told those who had registered to get the jabs via the Mor Phrom app that they need not sign up again with the staff rearranging the queue. They will now only be informed of the district where they will get the shots without the date, time and place being stated.
