POLICE quickly moved to hunt down a “foreign gang” after they posted a video online flouting the law with Immigration police too warned that those who are lax or take bribes will be punished, Naewna newspaper said this afternoon (Nov. 22).
National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet told Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Thana Chuwong to conduct an in-depth investigation of all aspects of this case and determine whether the clip in which the foreign gangsters challenged the country’s law was shot here. If it was filmed in the country all units have to trace the location.
The gangsters in the video clip are to be arrested and immediately brought to justice, he added.
Pol. Gen. Kittirat underscored that he will not allow foreigners to behave in this way in Thailand.
Local and Immigration police were ordered to ensure that foreigners stay within the framework of immigration laws and prohibit gangs from being set up and defy the law. Immigration officers found to be lax or involved or had demanded bribes will face strict criminal, disciplinary, and administrative action.
All police zones were ordered to strictly prohibit incidents that appeared in the video clip with disciplinary action to be immediately taken against the police chief of those stations that neglect doing so.
Pol. Gen. Thana held a meeting this same afternoon at the police headquarters and ordered all relevant units nationwide to quickly follow orders and investigate this case.
