A SWISS MAN who jumped from the third floor of Phuket Airport last evening and was rushed to the hospital died this morning (Sep. 23) while the Meteorological Department warned the tourist island faces more torrential rain today after yesterday’s downpour led to Patong beach being heavily flooded, Phuket Times online news service said.

At approximately 7.40 p.m. last night the Swiss tourist, identified as Robert Jersek, 53, (name translated as written in Thai) jumped from the third floor of the southern side of the international passenger terminal.

Airport medical team quickly helped him, giving him cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rushed him to the hospital but unfortunately he died this morning.

Meanwhile the Met Department’s weather forecast division put out a map showing Phuket and Krabi coloured in red which means more torrential rain is expected from 6 a.m. today till 6 a.m. tomorrow morning while Bangkok and the other province coloured yellow will likely be lashed by heavy rain.

Also last night a Filipino singer riding on a blue motorcycle narrowly escaped death after an electric pole toppled on Patong-Karon road in front of Centara Grand Beach Resort Hotel.

She posted the following message online: “If God not allow you to die today, you will not die today🙏🙏🙏 Lord thank you for your unconditional love❤️❤️🙏🙏 Me watching and waiting to die that time in my motorbike😩 I don’t see any chances to survive but God is good🙏”
