Motorists warned to avoid protests taking place across Bangkok

 

METROPOLITAN Police Bureau issued a warning for motorists to beware of various groups holding protests across Bangkok today (July 31) and carefully plan their trips in advance, Sanook.com said.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Jirasant Kaewsangek, deputy chief of Metropolitan Police Bureau and spokesman, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Sophon Sarapat, deputy chief and deputy spokesman, mentioned two routes that motorists should avoid as follows:

– The area in front of Russian embassy on Sap Road, Si Phraya, as the National People’s Congress and Global Peoples Congress rallied here from 6 a.m. this morning;

– Phayathai traffic island at Victory Monument where the People Group – Artistes for the People will be starting their demonstration from 3 p.m.
