A RETIRED police detective shot dead his younger brother and sister-in-law at the family compound in Phitsanulok province early this morning (June 3) and then called the police to come and arrest him, Thai Rath newspaper said.
When police investigators got to the large over two rai family compound with a few houses built on it in Mueang district they found the body of Mr. Prachob Sukakit, 53, next to one of them. At the back of the house they found the body of his wife Mrs Kluaymai Sukakij, 53.
Waiting to surrender was Pol. Col. Preecha Sukakij, the deceased man’s older brother and a retired police investigator formerly attached to Mueang district police station, who had called the police hotline 191 after the killings.
Pol. Col. Pakpoom Prabsriphum, Mueang district police station chief, said the cause was a personal conflict between the victims and the perpetrator who had surrendered and investigation is underway to find out more details.
However, other sources told reporters of this newspaper that the killings stemmed from an irreconcilable inheritance conflict.
