AT LAST, DE FACTO Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra will return home on August 10, confirmed the deposed prime minister’s daughter Paetongtarn Shinawatra today (July 26).
Paetongtarn posted on her Facebook page to confirm her father will come back home after 17 years in self-exile overseas though he had earlier planned to do so some day prior to today which marked his 74th birth anniversary.
On August 10, Thaksin will fly a private jet to land at Don Mueang airport and will immediately come under custody of officials of the Corrections Department upon arrival.
The de facto Pheu Thai boss will be brought to the Police Club on Vibhavadi Rangsit road and then taken to the Supreme Court where he will hear court verdicts earlier delivered against him with a combined 10-year jail term due to three counts of misconduct perpetrated during his premiership nearly two decades earlier.
Finally, Thaksin who was deposed in the 2006 coup, became a globetrotter in self-exile and managed to slip out of the home country after a brief return in 2008 will be put behind bars at Bangkok Remand Prison.
