3 hurt as aluminium sheet falls from hospital building under construction

PEOPLE fled in panic after an aluminium sheet being hoisted up a building under construction at Chulalongkorn Hospital suddenly fell to the ground at 4 p.m. today (Apr. 20) injuring three people and damaging a police sedan parked upfront, TV Channel 7 said.

This accident occurred shortly before Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was to attend a Ruam Thai Sang Chart campaign rally at Lumpini Park. He is contesting the upcoming general election to prolong his rule under this party’s tickets.

As the aluminium sheet flew to the ground it hit three people, two women and a security guard, with all three slightly injured.

The sheet also hit a police sedan parked in front, smashing the rear windshield and denting the side of the vehicle.

Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office and Ruam Thai Sang Chart deputy leader Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana had already arrived at Lumpini Park and came over to inspect the accident and talk to those injured.
