TWO drug seizures took place over the past 24 hours with 750 grammes of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) found hidden in motorcycle parts at the airport while two bikers were arrested in Chiang Rai as they were transporting 100,000 methamphetamine pills, Matichon and TV Channel 7 said.
The Airport Interdiction Task Force (AITF) found the 750 grammes of Ice hidden in three pieces of motorcycle parts being sent by Express Mail Service (EMS) to a destination in Melbourne, Australia.
The drug and all the evidence was sent to Narcotics Suppression Bureau police to further investigate the case and find the drug senders in Thailand and coordinate with Australian police to track down the recipients.

Meanwhile in Chiang Rai, a police team from Phan station chased and arrested two bikers last night after they refused to stop at a checkpoint and instead sped off. They then dropped a fertiliser bag just 300 metres from the checkpoint but were eventually arrested.
Police later found 100,000 meth pills in the fertiliser bag and questioned the two suspects, Mr Sunthorn, 28, and a 16-year-old youth.
They said they had been hired for 5,000 baht to pick up the drug from Hmong Intersection, Mae Kon subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Rai district, for delivery to Ngao district in Lampang Province.
They have been charged with possession for illegal distribution as well as consumption of type 1 narcotic (methamphetamine).
Meanwhile Mr. Wichai Chaimongkol, secretary-general of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), said Justice Minister Mr. Somsak ThepsutHin has ordered that investigation of transnational drug trafficking be expedited and concrete results achieved.
Yesterday he held talks with Mr. Jeremy Douglas, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, and has coordinated with the six Mekong river basin countries, namely China, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand, to hold a video conference on July 5, with Minister Somsak to preside over the talks.
