BOTH People’s Party volunteer guards and soldiers at the 11th Infantry Regiment headquarters started preparing this evening’s (Nov. 29) demonstration with the former bringing pink plastic shields along with them and started closing inbound side of Phaholyothin road beneath Wat Phra Sri Mahathat BTS station, Naewna newspaper reported.
Today’s rally, entitled “Disarm Thai Feudalism,” was moved to the 11th Infantry Regiment from the 1st Infantry Regiment on Vibhavadi Rangsit road with the protesters assembling at this BTS station before moving to the military headquarters.
Reporters noted at 3 p.m. that the protest guards had used orange plastic barriers to block the inbound stretch of the road under the station but traffic was still flowing normally on the outbound side.
The guards had also brought along around 10 pink plastic shields with them with this being the first time ever they had come so equipped.
Meanwhile soldiers at the 11th Infantry Regiment rolled out several layers of barbed wire across the front entrance and also parked two old buses there. They had covered the sign with black shading net.
Earlier two water cannon trucks had arrived near this military headquarters but they had since then been driven away.
