SEVERAL SUSPECTS were arrested in a string of drugs busts across the country with 12 million methamphetamine (Speed) pills being seized in the latest police action while 100 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) and 150 kilogrammes Ketamine were netted in earlier raids, INN News reported today (July 21, 2020).
On Sunday Narcotics Suppression police trailed and stopped a sedan and a van at a petrol pump as it was traveling from Non Khai to Udon Thani province after being tipped off that central region drug traders were moving a large quantity of narcotics. However while they were able to arrest the van driver, Kittisak Kanketkaew, the sedan driver smashed a police car and zoomed off.
Another police car chased the sedan all the way to Loei province where it was found parked next to a sugarcane plantation. Within was stashed 12 million tablets of Speed pills. The sedan’s driver, Sikarn Thongphaen, was found hiding at this plantation.
Another five million Speed pills were seized and two suspects arrested in Sukhothai province as they were transporting the drug to Bangkok.
Narcotics Suppression Bureau chief Pol. Lt. Gen. Chinnaphat Sarasin mentioned that arrested in the third case was the son of a former famous actor Mr. Jitboon ,or Note, Pichianpak together with five of his accomplices with 3,000 tablets of Speed pills and 200 grammes of Ice being seized.
Also netted in other recent drug raids were 400 kilogrammes of marijuana, 100 kilogrammes of Ice and 150 kilogrammes of Ketamine.
