Pheu Thai to invite Prayut’s party, Chart Pattana Kla to talks

AS TALKS between Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai parties started at  2 p.m. today (July 22) with the latter urged to support for the former’s prime minister candidate Srettha Thavisin, it was reported that invitations will also be sent later in the day to Ruam Thai Sang Chart, with caretaker prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha being the de facto leader, and Chart Pattana Kla on finding a way to resolve the crisis on setting up a government, Amarin TV said.

Pheu Thai is taking the lead in forming a coalition government by eight parties after Move Forward Party yesterday stepped back and gave up on concerted bids to name Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat for prime minister.

It was reported at 4 p.m. Pheu Thai leader Chonlanand Srikaew, deputy leader Phumtham Wechayachai and secretary-general Prasert Chanthararuangthong will send a letter inviting Chart Pattana Kla Party leader Suwat Liptapanlop, Mr. Tewan Liptapanlop and Mr. Watcharaphon Tomornsak to talks on ending this political crisis.

At 5 p.m. the Pheu Thai leaders will send a letter inviting the Ruam Thai Sang Chart team, consisting of Mr. Peeraphan Salirataviphak, Mr. Supattanapong Panmeechaow, Mr. Ekanat Promphan and Ms. Piccharat Laohapongchana, to talks on finding a solution to the crisis.

Pheu Thai tried but failed to reach Chart Thai Pattana Party leader Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa as it is believed he is currently overseas.
