AN AIR INDIA flight from Hong Kong to Phuket then onwards to New Delhi asked to make an emergency at Phuket Airport after the crew found a bomb threat in a message during the flight, Amarin TV said today (June 13).
At 9.30 a.m. Flight Control Centre of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd informed Phuket Airport that Air India Flight AI 379, route HKT-Phuket-DEL, with 156 passengers on board had asked to make an emergency landing while enroute from Phuket to Delhi over this bomb threat.
The southern resort island’s airport said it would follow Chapter three of the Airport Contingency Plan in handling all aspects of this emergency.
This followed more than 240 passengers being killed in a crash of another Air India flight that was bound for London at India’s northwestern city of Ahmedabad yesterday (June 12) with there being only one survivor.
