THE chief guard of the Klong Prem Central Prison zone where Pol. Col. Thitisan Uttanaphon, aka Superintendent Joe Ferrari, was found hanged with a towel on Friday night has been transferred to the general administration department, Naewna newspaper said this afternoon (March 10).
Mr. Phedchet Hringrot, director of Central Correctional Institution for Drug Addicts, acting as commander of Klong Prem Central Prison, signed an order transferring Mr. Sitthiphon Kaewkhambong from the position of Zone 7 control chief to the general administration department until the facts of Joe Ferrari’s death are known.
He also signed another order appointing a fact-finding committee to investigate the death of the former police superintendent, who was so nicknamed for owning several luxury vehicles.
In June 2022 Joe Ferrari, former superintendent of Mueang Nakhon Sawan police station, and six of seven of his subordinates were sentenced to death for intentionally torturing a drug suspect to death with two plastic bags but this was commuted to life imprisonment because of mitigating circumstances.
