Joe Ferrari indicted on 4 charges, faces death penalty

THE Office of the Attorney General at the Government Centre on Chaeng Wattana road said today (Nov. 15) that Pol. Col. Thitisan Uttanaphon, aka Superintendent Joe Ferrari, and six other suspects accused of suffocating a drug suspect to death with two plastic bags have been indicted on four charges and at maximum face the death penalty, Amarin TV said.

The four charges are as follows:

1) In being an official performing or refraining from performing one’s duties;

2) In being an official joining together in abusing power in performing or refraining from performing duties;

3) Jointly killing others through torture or by means of other atrocities;

4) More than five joining together in forcefully coercing others.

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office was assigned to file a lawsuit against the accused at the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases with the maximum penalty being the death penalty.
