Police moving to arrest 2 Japanese men in murder-mutilation of fellow countryman

THAI police are about to issue arrest warrants for two Japanese men who an eyewitness said murdered and dismembered a fellow countryman then dumped his body parts in deserted alleys at Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi, TV Channel 7 said today (Apr. 24).

This case arose on Friday Apr. 19 when Bang Bua Thong police station received a report of dismembered human remains being found dumped in black plastic bags in a secluded alley.

On Sunday Apr. 21 police were notified that a saw and an axe had been found just 2km away from the alley where the human remains were discovered and believed they were used to dismember the victim.

Yesterday police expanded their search and found a skull and joints believed to be the victim’s elbows and knees about 10 metres apart at a forest in an alley opposite the one where the first lot of remains had been recovered. Animals had torn the black bags and dragged out the remains.

At 5 p.m. yesterday officials from the Forensic Science Institute visited the area and examined the skull and part of the left shoulder blade plus other body parts and identified the victim as a male of unknown age. He had a bullet hole at the back of his head and in his mouth with several of his teeth filled.

It was assumed that he was shot from behind with the officials taking all the remains for further examination.

At 8 a.m. this morning Pol. Maj. Gen. Worachat Saenkham, commander of the Provincial Police Region 1, Pol. Col. Somphon Wongsrisunthon, deputy Nonthaburi police commander and Pol. Col. Pruet Chamrunsat, superintendent of Bang Bua Thong police station, said they had detained and questioned a suspect, only identified as Mr. Game, 34.

The suspect confessed that on the day of the murder he had been hired by three Japanese people to drive to a factory in Bang Bua Thong area. The deceased sat in front next to him and other two Japanese men behind.

Along the way the three of them had a violent argument and upon arriving at the factory the killers told him to get out of the car.

He stepped out and stood there smoking a cigarette when he heard a gunshot go off. He then saw that the Japanese man sitting next to him had been shot. The other two Japanese men took his body into the factory after that came out with several black plastic bags.

They told him to drive to different points where they dumped the plastic bags after which they separated.
