Move Forward declares war on drugs, graft in Phuket

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

MOVE FORWARD LEADER/PRIME minister-designate Pita Limjaroenrat today (June 9) declared an all-out war against narcotics trading and corruption in Phuket.

During today’s visit to Phuket and celebrations for the Move Forward victory over all three constituencies of the island province in the May 14 election, Pita confirmed that Move Forward MP-designate Rangsiman Rome, who is a native of Phuket, will be a leading fighter against drugs and corruption throughout the world-renowned tourist island.

Given a complete riddance of drugs and corruption, the prime minister-designate said, Phuket’s tourist industry could potentially be upgraded as a world-class tourist destination on par with rivals all over the globe whilst income and welfare benefits for the southern islanders will be considerably increased as soon as the Move Forward-led coalition government sets off to work, Pita said.

“Phuket is not only the Pearl of the Andaman Sea and Move Forward Party but the pearl of the whole world,” he said to a cheering crowd, many of whom wore an orange jacket and an orange cap bearing the progressive party’s logo.

The Move Forward leader also called on the local people to help with a grand campaign for Phuket to host a future World Expo in competition with the United States, Spain and Serbia, among others.
