PAETONGTARN SHINAWATRA, daughter of de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra, said today (June 4) she would prefer to literally bring her father home from any foreign country where he may be staying next month.
Paetongtarn, one of a trio of Pheu Thai partisan contestants for prime minister, told reporters she would personally prefer to leave for that country, be it Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, or elsewhere, where her father will be living next month so that, she said, the both of them could fly back home together.
Her comments followed the reassurance recently made in Singapore by her father that he will certainly come back no matter what may happen to him.
Last week, Paetongtarn visited her father and her aunt/deposed prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra somewhere in the island republic.
Thaksin has not as yet pinpointed next month’s date on which he will come back, saying he will have his daughter unveil it to the public and that he has merely intended to literally babysit all his seven grandchildren after he has returned home.
Thaksin who has been earlier sentenced in absentia by court to a combined 10-year prison for separate counts of misconduct perpetrated during his premiership nearly two decades ago categorically dismissed speculation that he might probably somehow stand behind future political scenes involving his daughter and those among the rank and file of his own camp.
