THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) executive committee decided at its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha today (April 8) to put off cancelling RT-PCR test and only use ATK for travellers coming to the country by Test & Go, Sandbox and Quarantine procedures, Sanook.com said.
Dr. Taweesilp Visanuyothin, CCSA’s spokesman, said the meeting approved in principle to adjust entry measures including reduction of the US$20,000 insurance coverage with relevant agencies assigned to study this relaxation for a final decision after the Songkran festival.
“Everything that was proposed has not been approved but agreed to in principle. The Prime Minister said that he wants to see how Thais cooperate during Songkran. The tally of infected people will indicate what phase 2 starting this May will be like. This issue will be brought up at the next meeting of the CCSA,” Dr. Taweesilp said.
During Songkran festival CCSA will continue maintaining preventive measures as follows:
– Consumption of alcoholic beverages in restaurants at tourism pilot area and high surveillance zone allowed till 11.00 p.m.;
– Restaurants serving alcoholic beverages must pass SHA+ or Thai Stop Covid 2-Plus standards and implement Covid Free Setting measures;
– Entertainment venues, such as pubs, bars and karaoke lounges, can open as a restaurant by asking for permission from the provincial or Bangkok Communicable Disease Committee.
