AFTER A Tiktok member posted a video clip of a Covid antigen test kit showing four bars instead of either one bar indicating negative or two bars positive the distributor of the Chinese-made product said it is not possible for this to occur, Amarin TV said today (Mar. 19).
The unidentified Tiktok member who later deleted this clip raised the question whether this was an error or an indication of Covid mutation.
As this unusual Covid test result was widely covered by the local media, Saintmed Plc, the distributor of Baicare antigen test kits produced by Baicare (Tianjin) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. China issued a statement that where clinical science, chemical and technical aspects are concerned the company’s products cannot display four bars as has been widely reported.
Meanwhile the Public Health Ministry said this morning there were 25,804 Covid cases and 87 deaths over the past 24 hours taking the cumulative confirmed total since the start of the pandemic to 3,328,973 and since the beginning of the year 1,105,538.
Another 18,801 patients were cured taking total recoveries since the onset of the pandemic to 3,067,292 and since the beginning of the year 898,798 while 237,519 patients are still undergoing treatment.
The additional 87 fatalities raised the death toll to 24,162.
Altogether 126,799,701 doses of vaccines have been administered so far.
