CCSA: Curfew relaxed to 11 p.m.- 3 a.m.

 

THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) executive committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha this afternoon (Oct. 14) reduced curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. from Oct. 16 onwards, Sanook.com said.

Dr. Taweesilp Visanuyothin, CCSA’s spokesman, said the meeting also considered guidelines on allowing tourists from low-risk countries to fly into Thailand without the necessity of quarantine from Nov. 1 and it is possible that lockdown measures will be lifted on that date.

It was also decided to adjust the number of provinces in the colour-coded Covid-19 control zones as follows: the highest and strict control zone (dark red) now covers 23 provinces, the highest control zone (red) 30 provinces  and the control zone (orange) 24 provinces.

Business and activities have also been adjusted with meetings and traditional events allowed in exhibition and convention centres or similar venues, shopping malls and hotels with the maximum number of people allowed to attend these gathering fixed according to zoning level as follows:

In the maximum and strict control zone not more than 50 people; maximum control zone 100; controlled zone 200; high surveillance zone 300 and in surveillance zone 500.

Moreover day-care centres for the elderly may reopen with approval from the provincial communicable disease committee or the Bangkok Communicable Disease Committee but no later than 10 p.m.

Earlier the Public Health Ministry said there were 11,276 coronavirus cases and 112 deaths today with this taking the cumulative confirmed total since April to 1,722,841 and since the start of the pandemic 1,751,704.

Of the new batch of patients 11,142 emerged among the general public and  134 in prisons and detention centres.

Another 10,407 patients were cured taking total recoveries since April to 1,598,324 with 107,925 still undergoing treatment.

Today’s 112 fatalities raises the death toll to 18,029.
