IN an effort to attract more tourists the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) today (Oct. 15) announced that Thai superstar Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban has accepted the position of “Amazing Thailand Ambassador” for next year, PPTVHD 36 said.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT’s governor, said Lisa will showcase Thailand’s attractions as a leading tourist destination.
“This position marks another important step in showcasing the charm, diversity, and wonders of Thailand in a new light, allowing both Thais and international tourists to discover Amazing Thailand together,” she said.
Lisa’s role as “Amazing Thailand Ambassador” is a source of pride for the Thai people as she also has a powerful voice that would help spread the story of Thailand’s beauty and uniqueness, she added.
Lisa, born Pranpriya Manobal on March 27, 1997, is a Thai rapper, singer, dancer, and actress. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink, which debuted under YG Entertainment in August 2016. She made her acting debut in 2025 in the HBO television series The White Lotus, according to Wikipedia.
In September 2021, Lisa released her debut single album Lalisa, which made her the first female artist to sell 736,000 copies of an album in its first week in South Korea. The music video for its lead single is the most-viewed music video in the first 24 hours on YouTube by a solo artist, while the album’s viral second single “Money” became the first song by a K-pop solo artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify; both songs charted in the top ten of the Billboard Global 200.
In 2024, Lisa established her own management company named Lloud, signed with RCA Records, and achieved her first number-one single on the Billboard Global Excl. US with “Rockstar”, the lead single of her debut studio album Alter Ego (2025). The album debuted in the top ten of the US Billboard 200 and spawned two number-one songs on the Official Thailand Chart, “Born Again” and “Dream”.
