Pheu Thai has no policy to oust own MPs: Paetongtarn

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

PHEU THAI LEADER PAETONGTARN Shinawatra bluntly commented yesterday (July 11) that her ruling party has had no policy to expel any MPs of their own.

Paetongtarn, daughter of de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra, was apparently referring to Pheu Thai MP Chalerm Yubamrung who has openly dared the party’s leadership to oust him after his son/former Pheu Thai MP Wan Yubamrung had recently quit from a minor post in government.

Paetongtarn said she has invariably viewed Chalerm, a former deputy prime minister, as a “senior, respectable” partisan colleague whilst the provoked ouster of him from the core coalition party has not dawned on her.

The frustrated Chalerm has earlier told reporters that he can no longer stay with Thaksin’s camp now that his son has already departed from it and dared Paetongtarn to expel him so, he said, he could immediately leave for another party.

Thaksin’s daughter had reportedly looked upset by a recent event in which Chalerm’s son had surprisingly shown up at the house of Khamronwit Thoopkrachang who had contested for head of Pathum Thani provincial administration and been outvoted by Charn Puangpet who had run under the Pheu Thai banners.

Without elaborating, the party-listed MP Chalerm said a few parties have already offered him partisan membership so he could practically keep his MP status intact if ever ousted by the Pheu Thai for whatever reason.
