THE five friends of actress Pataratida Patcharawirapong, or Tangmo Nida, who were with her when she drowned in Chao Phraya river during a speedboat trip last February as well as their consultant were permitted to be bailed out by public prosecutors after Nonthaburi police took them along to file charges against them today (Apr. 26), Sanook.com said.
The public prosecutors said it is the duty of the investigating officer to obtain an initial bail of 200,000 baht for each of the suspects at the interrogation stage but the office could later apply different levels.
All six were not barred from leaving the country and called in again tomorrow. If they do not show up, arrest warrants will be issued.
Police had submitted five boxes of evidence to the prosecutors.
The charges the six of them face are as follows:
– Mr. Tanupat Lerttaweewit, or Hi So Por, the speedboat owner, was charged with negligence causing the death of another person, sailing a boat without proper registration, using an expired licence to do so, discarding objects into the river, not attaching the boat’s name in Thai- English languages on the bow and giving false statements.
– Mr. Paiboon Srikanchananan, or Robert or Bird, the amateur skipper, was charged with negligence causing the death of another person, sailing a boat without proper registration, using an expired licence to do so and discarding objects into the river.
– Mr. Nithat Keeratisuthisathorn, or Job, was charged with helping others escape punishment or more leniently punished and throwing objects into the river.
– Ms. Wisapat Manomairat, or Sand, was charged with negligence causing the death of another person.
– Ms. Idsarin Juthasuksawat, or Gatick, her manager, was charged with helping others escape punishment or more leniently punished and giving false statements.
– Mr. M. Phim Thamtheerasri, their consultant, was charged with helping others escape punishment or more leniently punished and telling others to give false statements.
