MUEANG Nonthaburi police station today (Apr. 3) likely asked the court to issue additional arrest warrants in the the drowning of actress Pataratida Patcharawirapong, or Tangmo Nida, during a speedboat trip in Chao Phraya river in Feb. but it was later reported that this was turned down, Naewna newspaper said.
Pol Lt. Col. Samut Ketaya, the station’s deputy superintendent, left in a car at 11.30 a.m. reportedly heading for Nonthaburi Provincial Court to request for these additional warrants but this was later said to have been rejected.
The investigating officers will now issue summons for the suspects instead but it was unclear when this would happen.
Meanwhile Ms. Wisapat Manomairat, or Sand, one of Tangmo Nida’s five friends who was at the stern of the speedboat before she drowned, surrendered to police after an arrest warrant was issued on the charges of “negligence causing the death of another person.”
She arrived at the police station at 2. 15 p.m. in a car but refused to talk to the reporters.
