Neighbours bring Covid-infected elderly man to Govt House for help

RESIDENTS of a Ratchada-Tha Phra community brought an elderly man who had tested positive for Covid-19 via ATK to the Government House to get help from the 1111 helpline centre this evening (Mar. 9), TV Channel 7 said.

The 80-year-old elderly man was brought to the Government House on a pick-up truck after his neighbours had coordinated with relevant authorities to take him for treatment but without success.

Another problem was that this man was stressed out and resisted being taken for treatment.

However staff at this centre managed to persuade him to undergo treatment and contacted relevant agencies to take care of him.

By 6.45 p.m. this elderly patient was taken to a community isolation centre at Saphan Sung subdistrict, Lat Phrao district, for medical treatment.

There were 22,073 Covid cases and 69 deaths over the 24 hours to this morning, taking the cumulative confirmed total since the beginning of this year to 865,438 and since the start of the pandemic 3,088,873 , Sanook.com said.

Another 24,747 patients were cured with total recoveries since Jan. 1 adding up to 675,356 while 221,585 patients are still undergoing treatment.

Today’s 69 fatalities pushed the death toll to 23,438.
