WITH Nonthaburi police station packed with policemen and reporters investigating and covering the drowning of actress Pataratida Patcharawirapong, or Tangmo Nida, six days ago several of them have now got infected with Covid-19, Naewna newspaper said today (Mar. 2)
A police officer revealed that four policemen, among whom are investigators, have been confirmed to be infected with coronavirus.
At the same time as many as 10 reporters have tested positive via ATK and are now quarantined.
Meanwhile the Public Health Ministry said this morning there were 22,197 Covid cases and 45 deaths over the past 24 hours taking the cumulative confirmed total since the start of the pandemic to 2,934,544.
Another 19,093 patients have been cured increasing total recoveries from the onset of the pandemic to 2,692,739 while 218,784 are still undergoing treatment.
With today’s 45 fatalities the death toll now is 23,021.
Altogether 123,809,855 doses of vaccines have been administered so far.
Bangkok continued to top the list of ten worst-hit provinces with the number of cases increasing from 2,752 yesterday to 3,018 today. While the total in Chonburi dipped from 1,197 to 1,134 it nevertheless moved up to the second place replacing Nonthaburi where the tally dropped significantly from 1,292 to 682.
Samut Prakan too saw the total slide from 1,060 to 986.

4) Phuket, 688;
5) Nonthaburi, 682;
6) Samut Sakhon, 678;
