THE Metropolitan Police Bureau advised people to avoid the Ratchaprasong intersection area today (Dec. 12) from 2 p.m. as protesters are gathering there from 4 p.m. onwards, Amarin TV said.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Jirasan Kaewsaeng-ek, spokesman of Metropolitan Police, said three road are expected to be affected by the demonstration, namely Ploenchit Road (between Ratchaprasong and Chidlom intersections), Rajdamri Road (between Rajdamri and Pratunam intersections) and Rama 1 Road (between Chaloem Phao and Ratchaprasong intersections).
Spearheading the demonstration are the pro-democracy Rasadorn group and their allies with relevant units having deployed police teams and equipment to manage the situation.
Roads that can be used during today’s protest are the following:
1) Ratchaprarop;
2) Petchburi;
3) Sukhumvit;
4) Wireless;
5) Lang Suan;
6) Sarasin;
7) Rama 4;
8) Sathorn;
9) Silom;
10) Henri Dunant;
11) Phayathai;
12) Soi Tonson.
