Army truck carrying gravel overturns after tyre explodes

AN ARMY truck transporting gravel from Saraburi province to Bangkok overturned in the middle of a road in Pathum Thani province after the rear tyre exploded but fortunately the lone soldier driving the vehicle was not injured, Sanook.com said this afternoon (Nov. 22).

At 2 p.m. Pol.Maj. Singha Fuengkaew, a traffic inspector at Khlong Luang police station, was alerted of this accident on Phaholyothin road near the entrance to the expressway and quickly rushed there together with some other policemen and volunteers from Ruamduay Chuay Kan Khlong Luang Muang Mai and Ruam Katanyu foundations.

There they found that the four-wheel truck had overturned in the middle of the road with the gravel spilling out and blocking the traffic. 

Sergeant Major Sopha Khamsaeng, the driver, said he alone was driving this truck filled with gravel from Saraburi to Bangkok but the rear tyre suddenly exploded at this juncture, however fortunately no other vehicles were hit.

Pol.Maj. Singha took photographs of the accident and then called for a forklift truck to remove the vehicle from the road and provincial road workers to clear the gravel.
