WITH almost 180 student officers at Provincial Police Training Centre Region 7 at Ratchaburi province having all got infected with coronavirus in one go, their families wonder how this could have happened when these students have not been out of the compound for five months while also concerned about the medical treatment they will receive, Amarin TV said today (Nov. 22).
This TV station’s reporters contacted the training centre at Phrai Sadao subdistrict, Pak Tho district, and were told there are 500 people there including housekeepers, trainers and cooks.
So far 179 student officers and three cooks have got infected. All those at this centre have been divided into three groups – those infected, those who had contact with an infected person and those not infected.
Pak Tho Hospital has sent a mobile X-ray unit to check the lungs of everyone at the centre and results are awaited. However seven student officers had started showing signs of fatigue and they were admitted to the hospital for assessment.
Of the remaining, those displaying green stage symptoms will remain at the camp’s isolation station while those with yellow or red symptoms will be separated.
Public Health Ministry officials have gone in to take care of this large number of student officers but it is still being investigated as to how the infection spread there.
This provincial police training centre also reassured through a message on its Facebook page that all relevant agencies have cooperated to the best of their ability to ensure that the student officers receive the best medical care.
