THE Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 1 together with relevant agencies intercepted four parcels from Europe containing dolls with drugs stashed in them, Amarin TV said today (Oct. 9).
Lt. Gen. Phet-ek Intharatat, deputy director of ISOC Bangkok (Military Affairs), assigned Intelligence Gathering and Verification Unit 101 to seize and inspect the drug parcels at Bangkok Express Mail Centre in Lak Si district together with customs and Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) officials, and officers from Army Operations Centre’s intelligence unit, and the Security Centre.
Two of the four parcels holding dolls had been sent from Germany with the first one containing 97 Ecstasy pills plus fragments in tri-layer blue-pink-grey and grey-green-blue colours. The second one contained 94 white Alprazolam tablets and some fragments.
The second two parcels that had been sent from the UK contained cocaine weighing (including packaging) 212 grammes and 242 grammes, respectively.
The team seized the narcotics and gathered all evidence before transferring the case to Thung Song Hong police station for further legal proceedings and investigation to identify the parties involved.
The operation had proceeded smoothly, reflecting the cooperation between security agencies and relevant bodies in monitoring and intercepting illicit trafficking of narcotics via international parcel delivery systems.
