DE FACTO PHEU THAI boss/parolee Thaksin Shinawatra would probably not look to have the EM bracelet removed from his ankle any time soon whilst he may go anywhere inside the country or pay visits to a Bangkok hospital for a physical checkup or a medical treatment until he becomes a free man in the next four months, according to his lawyer Winyat Chartmontri.
The former prime minister who is scheduled to be completely freed from a one-year jail sentence in the upcoming September has not yet asked for removal of his EM ankle bracelet whilst he is legally obliged to report himself to a Bangkok branch office of the Probation Department once a month throughout his four-month parole.
The parolee who had literally spent an eight-month period behind bars at Klong Prem prison to serve the one-year term on charges of misconduct perpetrated during his previous premiership over the last couple of decades today (May 25) postponed his scheduled visit to the probation office until the upcoming Thursday, his lawyer confirmed.
Thaksin might probably wear his EM ankle bracelet throughout his parole time starting from the last couple of weeks until he is completely freed in the next four months.
However, he is more or less speculated to publicly express his views on political and economic topics and world affairs somewhere sooner than later as had been the case after he had been previously discharged from Police Hospital where he had allegedly staged a six-month-long fake-out as a “critically ill patient” only to avoid being otherwise thrown in jail.
But the de facto Pheu Thai boss was not yet seen anywhere in public since he was released on parole on May 11.
His neo-conservative Pheu Thai are currently a partner of the coalition government led by the ultra-conservative Bhumjaithai, surreptitiously steered by de facto party boss Newin Chidchob.
