DE FACTO Klatham boss Thammanat Prompao last evening (July 29) dismissed rumours of negotiating with de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra in Monaco pointing out he did not have to fly across continents to meet him, Naewna newspaper said.
Amid speculation that the two of them could be holding talks on gathering support to change the prime minister, Thammanat said on his personal Facebook page, “I did travel to France and Monaco for a vacation. I went on a family vacation; there was no politics involved.
“I don’t need to swear an oath anywhere. Just by checking Mr. Thaksin’s travel records would confirm he didn’t travel to Monaco.”
He added a Thai-language hashtag that translates to #NoMonacoDeclaration
Thamanat added that he used the parliamentary break to go on a vacation with his wife and children, a trip planned in advance and underscored that he did not meet Thaksin at all. He also shared a video clip of walking in Monaco with his two children.
“I don’t like being secretive, and there’s no need for me to sneak across the ocean to meet Mr. Thaksin in Monaco.”
