THAI LIBERAL leader Seripisut Temiyavej today (July 29) rejected an unsolicited advice for him to reach a compromise with de facto Bhumjaithai boss Newin Chidchob over a libel lawsuit filed in court against the former pertaining to the latter’s law-defiant land grabs in Buriram.
The sole Thai Liberal MP posted on his Facebook page to turn down the Buriram Court’s advice that he and the de facto boss of the Bhumjaithai, core of the current coalition government, negotiate with each other in the presence of a judge as mediator on Aug. 6 in order to strike a compromise, thus calling off the defamatory lawsuit pertaining to the Khao Kradong land dispute and nullifying court hearings otherwise scheduled to begin on Aug.17.
On the other hand, Seripisut said he will be formally asking the provincial court on the upcoming Friday to issue subpoenas for personal and material witnesses to produce in court and supposedly counter the libel lawsuit filed against him in regard to vast parcels of Buriram land illicitly grabbed by Newin, among 900-plus local villagers, and finally ruled by the Supreme Administrative Court for all the illegal occupants to return the valuable real estate to the State Railways of Thailand.
Meanwhile, Seripisut confirmed he is accompanying a lawyer tomorrow (July 30) to the earlier-disputable land in the lower northeastern province which is not only Newin’s hometown and the largest Bhumjaithai stronghold but locates Chang International Circuit motor racing venue and Chang Arena stadium owned and run by the de facto boss of the largest ruling party. Last month, the maverick Seripisut visited the perimeters of the residence of Newin’s who did not show up to see the former police chief/now opposition MP.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul who concurrently acts as interior minister and the Bhumjaithai leader registered himself as an inhabitant in the neighborhood of the illegally-occupied area.
