One injured in Yala roadside blast

 

A ROADSIDE bombing in far south Yala province this afternoon (Feb. 27) injured one person with authorities having cordoned off the area to prevent further incidents, TV Channel 7 said.

At 3.14 p.m. Yala Provincial Police’s 191 emergency call centre was alerted of an explosion at the roadside near the curve of Ban Hua Khao, on the route from the Ban Niang intersection to Ban Yaha curve in Mueang Yala district.

Initially, one motorcycle was found toppled at the scene, and one person was injured in the leg. Mae Thap Thim rescue volunteers assisted and transported the injured person to a nearby hospital.

Currently, officers from Lam Mai police station are investigating the incident and coordinating with the bomb disposal unit and other relevant agencies for a thorough investigation to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety. 

The area has been cordoned off, and the public is advised to avoid the Ban Niang-Yaha road until the area has been thoroughly inspected and cleared. They were told to not approach any suspicious objects and report them to the authorities immediately.
