A TWELVE-YEAR-OLD girl and her 35-year-old boyfriend were arrested for distributing methamphetamine pills in Maha Sarakham City today (Aug. 9) after a car chase, Amarin TV said.
Following a tip-off that a major drug distributor had a very young girlfriend and would come to pick her up when distributing meth pills in this Northeastern city a police team waited to ambush them near her house.
After Mr. Wirayut (surname withheld), also known as Nong, arrived and met his girlfriend, Ms. Tonkhao (surname withheld), police moved in to arrest them but they drove off in his pickup truck leading to a chase across 20 kilometres that only ended when the vehicle veered off the road.
Found in the pickup truck were 41,394 meth pills, two mobile phones, four motorcycles and a bank account holding 130,177.74 baht.
The two of them were taken to Maha Sarakham City police station where they were charged with jointly possessing a Category 1 narcotic and distributing it among the public with this affecting national security and public safety.
Pol. Col. Sumet Phithakkiattiyothin, a superintendent for investigation at Maha Sarakham Provincial Police, said Wirayut confessed to being a drug distributor for a drug dealer in a neighbouring country. He would deliver 50 bundles of 2,000 meth pills at a time for payment of 1,000 baht a bundle, totalling 50,000 baht.
He added that his young girlfriend is a relative of his ex-girlfriend and after they broke up he started dating her until they were arrested today.
