A FORMER columnist of “Dichan” and “Ploy Kaem Petch” magazines who now resides in US criticised Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s dress sense during her trip to Peru to join the 31st Apec Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings last week, Naewna newspaper said today (Nov. 19).
In a Facebook post Mr. Kiccha Buranond blasted the outfit Paetongtarn wore to get off the airplane in Lima, Peru, comparing the fashion faux pas to a Chinese tourist wearing shorts and a T-shirt to visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
On this trip she was performing national duties and was not on vacation or a shopping trip with her frayed pants and sneakers not appropriate at all, he said, adding just the white pants are already against the rules unless it is uniform.
Kiccha mentioned that Paetongtarn should have worn a dark suit made of Thai fabric cut in a chic style and stockings plus high heels. Her hair should have been made into a neat bun and not just a ponytail.
These things should not be overlooked as she was attending an international meeting not going to play tennis with friends in Pattaya, he added.
Kiccha also drew attention to some of Paetongtarn’s recent outfits pointing out that it seems as if she pulled the curtains from the living room and draped it over her arms and shoulders to protect against the cold air-conditioned car.
Kiccha also said all the photos of outfits Paetongtarn wore and he shared were completely inappropriate for the position of Prime Minister.
