A FIVE-STAR Hua Hin hotel has terminated the manager’s employment contract after his response to a review by a guest who mentioned having to pay for a toothbrush drew a response that was deemed inappropriate, Amarin TV said this evening (Oct. 26).
This guest of the unnamed five-star hotel had reviewed the posh establishment and posted it on both Facebook and Google with one part saying, “If you stay here, don’t forget to bring your toothbrush because the hotel will charge you 20 baht.”
The hotel manager replied in English but this was criticised as being inappropriate in terms of customer service especially the following sentence:
“Now let me explain or educate you a little bit about green hotels, we care for the environment, and this is the reason why we do not put dental kits for free in the rooms.”
This had led to widespread criticism on social media with Thai netizens faulting the manager’s attitude towards customers.
This hotel today posted a message saying, “The hotel would like to express its deepest regret for the incident and sincerely apologise for the manager’s actions.”
“We have immediately terminated the manager’s employment contract and respectfully accept your criticism. We sincerely hope that you will give us the opportunity to take care of and improve our services. Management xxxxx Hua Hin Resort.”
