FIVE teenagers hanging out on the Thonburi side of the Memorial Bridge in the wee hours of this morning (Sept. 1) were suddenly targeted by another group of nine teen bikers riding three motorcycles who used machetes and pistols to rob four pairs of shoes and a shirt from them, Amarin TV said.
At around 4 a.m. Pol. Lt. Col. Tulawut Hemathulin, an investigator at Buppharam police station, got a complaint from the five teenagers that as they were sitting near the Memorial Bridge close to the stairs leading down from Phra Pok Klao Bridge, which runs parallel to it, another group of around nine teenagers riding three motorcycles, three a bike, with their faces covered with helmets and facemasks rode up, and used pistols and machetes to threaten them.
One of the bikers said: “Where are you guys from?” “Those are nice shoes, give them to us.”
As the machetes they were holding were around 80cm long and they also pointed their pistols at them, the five teenages quickly gave them four pairs of shoes and a long-sleeved black shirt.
Fortunately before anything worse could have happened, a policeman rode up on his motorcycle and the nine teen bikers quickly zoomed down Phaya Mai road.
Police are now hunting for the nine teen robbers who stole shoes and a shirt.
