RETIRED POLICE general Rewat Klinkesorn has finally set up a political party of his own named the Rak Muang Thai with ultimate intent to combat corruption in government and declare war against drug dealers, among other crime-busting schemes.
The maverick Rewat, literally known for his extra-judicial killings of gunmen, drug traffickers and other criminals during his police career where he peaked at the position of commissioner of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, confirmed yesterday (Sep.3) he has decided to set up the newest camp with some 13,000 partisan members legally transferred from the Thai Counties, the no-MP party which he has rebranded as the Rak Muang Thai which literally means “love Thailand.”
Rewat who has named himself the leader of the Rak Muang Thai with intent to contest the next general election and win a dozen MP seats said the nationwide race to parliament could possibly occur as soon as the next few months if the Constitutional Court passed a ruling later this month to call the previous election null and void due to the Election Commission’s unprecedented uses of QR codes and barcodes on the voting ballots which may be judged non-confidential and illegitimate.
The retired police general remarked the current Bhumjaithai-led government has been evidently riddled with corruption scandals ranging from the senatorial rigging conspiracy and government exam fraud plots to the chronic Khao Kradong land dispute involving de facto Bhumjaithai boss Newin Chidchob, among other local villagers. He said the prime minister was ultimately prone to criticism for failure in his concurrent position of interior minister to take legal action against those illegal land occupants.
Ironically, Anutin had himself registered as inhabitant of a residence in the disputed area where Newin built Chang International Circuit as an auto racing venue and Chang Arena for soccer games.
