A HIGHWAY policeman was killed after the pickup truck he was driving was hit by a trailer-truck that jumped the red light at an intersection in Nakhon Ratchasima province with the driver trying to flee but finally arrested, TV Channel 7 said this evening (June 22).
Pol. Sgt. Maj. Nopparat Jarakratok was on his way to work yesterday when the trailer-truck jumped the red light at Uaychai intersection and violently slammed into his vehicle killing him on the spot.
After that the trailer-truck driver, only identified as Mr. Chatrosanchai, 27, tried to escape but other policemen managed to arrest him.
He later told police he was rushing to deliver a consignment of para rubber sheets to Chonburi,
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) website which posted an account of Pol. Sgt. Maj. Nopparat’s death offered condolences to his family.
